When your pet is at your veterinarian's office
When you've made the difficult decision to euthanize your pet at your veterinarian's office, we will bring your Pet Companion into our care directly from the clinic. Just let the staff at the clinic know you want to use our services and give us a call at 941-639-1133. We will be there within 24 hours to transfer your pet.
Once your pet is in our care, a member of our team will call you to review necessary information, answer questions, and begin the thought process for Remembering your beloved companion and Celebrate the joy you shared.
If your pet is at home with you
When your pet has died at your home, you have a couple of options. Most families prefer to bring their pets directly to our Pet care department located in Punta Gorda. Click here for our hours and location.
If your pet has died at home after our business hours, we have staff on call 24 hours a day. After business hours, please call 941-639-1133.
It is sometimes possible to make arrangements to leave your pet in the care of one of our chapels. If this is your preference, please contact us so we may assist with the transfer of your pet from the chapel to our Pet Services department.
We can also come to your home to transfer your pet into our care, for an additional fee.
When your pet is ready to come home, you may visit any of our chapels.
Our Unique Process
We own and operate our own crematory—so your pet never leaves our care. This gives us complete control over the process and allows us to guarantee your pet’s cremation is handled with the utmost dignity, security, and respect.
During each pet cremation, we adhere to the following secure six-step process to ensure absolute integrity:
1. Upon pick up or transfer of your pet to our facility, we identify and tag your pet with a stainless steel cremation disc with the ID number engraved on it.
2. This stainless steel cremation disc with the ID number remains with your pet throughout the cremation process, ensuring there are no mistakes or mix-ups.
3. After the cremation, your pet’s ashes are placed in an urn.
4. The urn is labeled with all critical information, including your pet’s name, cremation ID number, the owner’s name and contact information.
5. Our staff then prepares and personally signs a certificate of cremation bearing the pet’s name, owner’s name and cremation ID number.
6. This paperwork is securely stored along with your pet’s ashes until they are returned to you.
